Strengthening exercises for the feet can improve balance. But conversely, we can use balance exercises to further strengthen the feet. Exercising in this way brings in a more automatic use of these muscles. If our balance is challenged, we often need to react with our muscles before our conscious minds can figure it all out. Therefore, exercises that cause us to use the muscles, without consciously telling the muscles what to do, can be valuable.
